Step1-Your instructor will usually provide you the topic as well as the reference books for the idea he has selected for your small topic. After sorting through the assignment find out how much time you will need to spend on it for how many pages. Be sure to clarify from your instructor the specific or any unusual requirements he has asked for. Find out how much time you have for your assignment and plan accordingly. Research well in advance for extensive online databases like your own college databases, reference manuals, old theses, the internet and books to get a complete idea of your narrative essay.
Step 2-Use the references you have collected to start drafting tentative essay format to use as reference copies. At the same time keep a short bibliography ready to avoid inadvertently lifting work of other writers. You can prepare a bibliography by keeping a piece of paper handy on which you can jot own the necessary notations as you go along.
